Graphic file uploads: Formats and Sizes

Admin file uploads

To create design templates and establish a library of graphic assets for customer use, shop owners can upload graphic elements in these formats:

  • Raster graphics (images): you can upload images in .png and .jpg formats, with a maximum size of 10 MB. Once uploaded, these images cannot be edited. For the best print quality, it's recommended to keep them in their original size.

  • Vector files: available in .svg and .pdf formats, with a size limit of 2 MB. Vector shapes and illustrations can be resized and colored differently. Please note that vector files cannot contain strokes and should be expanded before exporting. Gradients are also not supported in vector files.

Please note that exporting an image as a .pdf does not convert it into a vector file; it remains a raster file. Additionally, PDFs exported from Canva are not supported. Only files in .jpg and .png formats from Canva can be used.

Customer file uploads

When creating custom designs, customers can upload the following by default:

  • Raster graphics (images): accepted formats include .png and .jpg, with a maximum file size of 5 MB.
  • Vector files: supported formats are .svg and .pdf, with a maximum size of 2 MB.

A shop owner has the flexibility to choose which formats customers are allowed to upload in the App > Preferences > Toolsets.

Large files

Businesses that offer custom designs for large format printing, including posters, wallpapers, tents, and other items, may require file size limits larger than the standard.

In these cases, customers with a STORE+ plan can have their file size limits increased to up to 20 MB for raster graphics and 3 MB for vectors.

Each case is carefully evaluated individually, so feel free to get in touch with our support team for a personalized solution.
